During the official opening times (tuesday - sunday 10:00AM - 06:00PM), the visitor of the Slate Museum has a free access to the site and can individually discover the Museum and its 200 year old history. The history of the mining activity can be discovered via explanatory signs on the site and during a visit to the underground mine*.

A visit to the underground mine* can be booked through our Ticketshop, per e-mail, per telephone or at the reception. A tour with the industrial train (2,50€ per ticket - upon availability; from May to October) can also be booked at the reception.

In case the visitor plans a visit to the underground mine, we request beforehand to bring study shoes (f.e. hiking footwear) and a jacket.

​

The whole exciting day at the Museum can then be topped with a refreshing drink at our famous ancient's café, the Bopebistro.
